W3AI Privacy Policy

1. Information W3AI accesses

When you click the W3AI extension icon and analyze a page, W3AI may access information from the page you explicitly choose to analyze, including:

• The page URL
• Page title
• Visible text
• Visible headings
• Visible button and link labels
• Relevant accessibility labels and page metadata

W3AI does not continuously monitor your browsing activity. Page information is accessed when you explicitly initiate an analysis.

W3AI is designed to avoid collecting sensitive form information such as passwords, payment information, typed form values, and hidden form fields.

2. How information is used

The information collected from a page is sent to the W3AI service to generate an explanation of the AI capabilities available on that page.

The resulting analysis may include information such as:

• Product or service name
• Summary of the capability
• What the capability does
• Why it may be useful
• How to use it
• Example use cases or prompts

For previously analyzed pages, W3AI may use a shared knowledge base to provide an existing analysis without generating a new AI response.

3. Knowledge base

W3AI may store generated analyses in a shared knowledge base so that other users can receive explanations for the same page without requiring a new AI analysis.

These analyses are associated with the analyzed page or capability rather than being presented as your personal browsing history.

We do not intentionally store your browsing history as a user activity log.

4. Accounts and authentication

W3AI allows users to sign in using supported authentication methods, including Google and email-based authentication.

If you create or use an account, we may process information required to authenticate and maintain your account, such as your email address and authentication/session information.

Authentication information is used to provide account access and enforce usage limits. We do not use your account information to create or sell advertising profiles.

5. Information we do not intentionally collect

W3AI does not intentionally collect:

• Your browsing history across websites
• Passwords
• Payment card information
• Typed form values
• Hidden form fields
• Continuous background browsing activity

W3AI only performs page analysis when you explicitly initiate it.

6. Third-party AI services

To generate AI-powered explanations, W3AI sends the information required for the analysis to the AI service provider used by W3AI.

The information sent to the AI provider is used to generate the requested analysis. Please refer to the applicable AI provider's privacy policy for information about how that provider handles data.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Page information required to provide W3AI's analysis may be processed by our service infrastructure and the third-party AI provider used to generate the analysis.

Generated page analyses may be stored in W3AI's shared knowledge base and made available to other W3AI users.

8. Data retention and deletion

Generated analyses may be retained in the W3AI knowledge base so that they can be reused by other users.

If you create an account, you may also contact us regarding account-related data associated with that account.

Uninstalling the extension stops the extension from accessing pages on your device, but it does not automatically delete analyses that have already been stored on W3AI's servers.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when W3AI's functionality or data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently updated.
